Job summary

Gfoat is seeking an Development Engineering Assistant Director to lead the Development Engineering Division in Pflugerville, TX. You will guide staff, oversee development reviews, and ensure compliance with city standards and ordinances while interfacing with management, developers, and outside agencies.

The role requires a Texas-licensed P.E., 7+ years in civil engineering, and strong project management, leadership, and communication skills to advance city infrastructure projects and policy

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years civil engineering experience, municipal/local government preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas; valid Texas Class C Driver License.
• CFM certification preferred; supervisory/management experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and reviews work of engineering staff and inspectors to ensure compliance with standards.
• Participates in hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
• Oversees development review processes including subdivision plats and site development permits.
• Coordinates reviews with internal and external stakeholders for timely approvals.
• Makes technical decisions on standards, construction requirements, and infrastructure design.
• Assists in policy development, procedures, and city ordinances revisions.
• Reviews engineering reports and related docs for regulatory compliance.
• Resolves conflicts and provides practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Supports long-range planning, CIP coordination, and growth management.
• Represents the department at meetings and in community/professional settings.
