Job summary

Lwala Community Alliance seeks an Engagement Manager in Nashville to expand donor engagement and funding partnerships. You will work with grant writing, management, fundraising and branding to extend Lwala’s proven model.

Under the Executive Director, design development plans, steward major donors, and coordinate events in New York, Nashville, and Kenya to cultivate long-term support. 2–5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field; Masters preferred.
• 2–5 years in nonprofit fundraising and grant writing.
• Proven ability to cultivate donors and lead development strategies.
• Experience with donor cultivation, grants, and government contracts.
• Strong written, oral communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute an annual development plan with cultivation and stewardship.
• Steward a portfolio of major donors and support leadership in donor tracking.
• Lead direct mail and digital campaigns and board fundraising plans.
• Plan fundraising events in New York, Nashville, and other cities.
• Oversee donor research, grant proposals, and reporting to funders.
• Collaborate with Executive Director to foster donor relationships.
• Coordinate with finance for grants management and earmarks.
• Identify and develop institutional funding partners.
• Represent Lwala at conferences and events.
• Prepare profiles and research on new prospective donors.
