The Tanzanian Children’s Fund (TCF) in Cambridge, MA is hiring a Development Associate to support fundraising, donor stewardship, and communications. This full‑time role reports to the Director of Development and Communications and works across the US team based in Cambridge, MA.

Primary duties include managing donor gifts, coordinating campaigns, updating the website and Mailchimp lists, and organizing fundraising tours with senior leaders. Travel for donor meetings and events is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 1-3 years of fundraising experience
• Exceptional verbal and written skills, capable of crafting and delivering messages that engage and motivate donors
• Flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and in a time sensitive manner
• Attention to detail in fiscal and written deliverables
• Demonstrated ability to work with others across cultures and backgrounds with respect and collegiality
• Familiarity with Kindful donor management software preferred
• Must have a legal right to work in the US as we are unable to sponsor visas or relocations for this role
• Some travel required for fundraising events and donor meetings

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Development and Communications in executing all development and communications objectives to support TCF’s strategic growth and impact
• Engage and cultivate donors with annual gifts totaling up to $10,000
• Create a donor pipeline plan for moving existing supporters up various giving levels
• Monitor and manage grant and foundation reporting calendar to keep the team on track
• Execute annual fundraising tours in partnership with others on the Senior Leadership Team
• Collaborate with Program Department Heads to collect program data for communications and grants
