Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Director of Development for the Del Oro Division in Sacramento, CA. This leadership role oversees fundraising programs, donor cultivation, and communications to advance mission objectives and secure revenue streams across multiple initiatives.

You will lead staff across Planned Giving, Major Gifts, Capital Campaigns, and Board development, coordinating strategy and reporting to the Divisional Commander.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Masters preferred in business, marketing, or communications.
• Degree in Fundraising, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
• CFRE certification desirable.
• 5–7 years at director level with revenue-generation experience.
• 6–8 years progressive management with strategic thinking.
• 7–10 years fundraising experience with leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee high-quality written funder communications and proposals.
• Staff and manage programs: Planned Giving, Major Gifts, Capital Campaigns, and more.
• Prepare strategic plan with short and long-range goals.
• Develop donor relationships and cultivate new income sources.
• Lead development staff and ensure goal achievement.
• Advise on capital campaigns and CRD related matters.
