Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory in Elkhart, Indiana seeks a Development Director to lead the corps' development agenda and act as a liaison to advisory organizations to advance the mission.

You will oversee donor development, capital campaigns, grants, events, and media opportunities, coordinating with the Divisional Development department to ensure effective fundraising strategies and program support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in public relations and fundraising.
• Must have a valid driver's license and Safe From Harm training within the first 30 days of employment.
• Proficient in English with Microsoft Office; able to learn electronic reporting systems.
• At least 1 year of supervision experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development function serving the Corps.
• Oversee donor development, manage capital campaigns, participate in grant writing and events.
• Advance development team capabilities including donor relations and campaigns.
• Manage mail appeals, endowment and capital campaigns with the Divisional Development department.
• Plan fundraising events with leadership and seasonal campaigns.
• Coordinate media and public relations outreach with local organizations.
• Manage special events and identify PR opportunities.
• Serve as liaison to Advisory Board and perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Minimum 3 years' experience in public relations and fundraising

Valid driver's license and Safe From Harm training within 30 days

English communication; MS Office proficiency

Minimum 1 year supervision experience
