Job summary

Gladden Community House is seeking a Director of Development to lead fundraising efforts, cultivate donor relationships, solicit major gifts, and guide annual giving campaigns. You will collaborate with the CEO and administration to align with Gladden’s mission and strategic plan.

The role oversees communications/marketing for fundraising, manages donor stewardship, and analyzes data to drive decisions. Excellent leadership and nonprofit fundraising experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or extensive related experience.
• Minimum 5 years in professional sales, nonprofit business development, community relations, or related fields.
• Demonstrated multi-year experience with nonprofit organizations as employee or volunteer.
• Passion for mission; nonprofit board experience and/or fundraising event leadership is a plus.
• Energetic, positive leadership and collaboration.
• Ability to work with professionals across teams.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written and oral communications; grant writing or proposals a plus.
• Proficient with databases and social media; CRM experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning: develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy incl. corporate/foundation giving, events, annual campaign, major gifts, and planned giving.
• Donor Cultivation and Solicitation: identify, research, and cultivate high-potential donors to solicit significant contributions.
• Leadership: contribute to strategic plan, uphold brand and culture; may manage staff.
• Board Engagement: collaborate with the Board to set priorities and report progress.
• Communication and Marketing: manage marketing/communications to promote mission and fundraising.
• Donor Stewardship: implement stewardship to deepen relationships and report impact.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: track progress, identify trends, maintain CRM data.
• Compliance and Ethics: ensure legal and ethical fundraising practices.
• Gladden Ambassador: represent Gladden at events and build partnerships in Central Ohio.
