Job summary

Gladden Community House is seeking a Director of Development to lead the organization’s fundraising strategy in Columbus, OH. You will identify donors, cultivate major gifts, and manage annual campaigns while coordinating communications to support fundraising goals in line with the mission.

The role reports to the President & CEO and collaborates with the CEO, development staff, and senior colleagues to expand Gladden’s impact and brand awareness in Central Ohio and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Humanities and/or Social Sciences or extensive related professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in professional sales, nonprofit business development, community relations, and/or other related fields.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining multi-year professional relationships.
• Nonprofit board experience and/or experience organizing and leading fundraising events is a big plus.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; grant writing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Strategic planning: develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
• Donor cultivation and solicitation: research and engage high-potential donors to solicit contributions.
• Leadership: contribute to the strategic plan and mentor staff as needed.
• Board engagement: work with the Board to identify priorities and report progress.
• Communication and marketing: manage strategies to promote the mission and fundraising initiatives.
