Job summary

The American Heart Association in Grand Rapids is hiring a Development Director to lead revenue-focused campaigns in our local market. You will recruit volunteers, secure financial contributions, and oversee peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives while coordinating events with partners.

This full-time, office-based role offers a hybrid schedule, a base salary with incentive potential up to 25% of base pay, and strong support resources for professional development and work-life balance.

Qualifications

• 3 years of fundraising, sales, or related experience
• University/College degree or equivalent experience
• Ability to travel locally up to 70% and occasional overnight trips
• Ability to lift/move large objects as needed
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools

Responsibilities

• Drive peer-to-peer fundraising to achieve revenue goals and document results.
• Generate revenue by securing local corporate sponsorships and individual donations.
• Lead the Hard Hats with Heart campaign for the market.
• Recruit, engage, and recognize volunteers with effective orientation and training.
• Build partnerships with external and internal stakeholders.
• Recruit executive volunteer leadership and day-of-event volunteers.
• Cultivate donors to increase engagement and giving.
• Plan and implement events with partners.
• Maintain accurate CRM data and support Microsoft platforms.
