Job summary

American Heart Association in Grand Rapids seeks a Development Director to lead fundraising campaigns and Hard Hats with Heart initiatives. You will recruit volunteers, secure donations, and cultivate relationships while driving revenue with local partners.

The role offers a base salary with up to 25% incentive, a hybrid schedule, and opportunities for professional growth through Heart U and extensive training.

Qualifications

3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or related fields.
Ability to travel locally up to 70% and be available for some overnight trips.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools.

Responsibilities

Drive peer-to-peer fundraising to achieve revenue goals and document appointments/results.
Generate revenue by securing local corporate sponsorships and individual donations.
Lead the Hard Hats with Heart campaign for the market.
Recruit, engage, and recognize volunteers with effective orientation and training.
Build external and internal partnerships and manage executive volunteer leadership.
Cultivate donors to increase engagement and giving.
Plan and implement events with internal/external partners.
Maintain accurate volunteer and supporter data in CRM and Microsoft platforms.
