Job summary

Maryland Center on Economic Policy is seeking a senior development professional to lead fundraising strategy and donor relations for both local and national funders. The role involves coordinating grant proposals, overseeing LOIs, and managing development operations while collaborating with staff and leadership.

You will craft compelling donor communications, expand foundations and individual giving, and help align budgets with program needs.

Qualifications

• At least five years of development experience.
• Proven fundraising and revenue growth with donor pipelines.
• Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills for donor communication.
• Ability to build relationships with colleagues and external partners across diverse identities.
• Commitment to advancing equity and inclusion in policies and programs.
• Experience with CRM tools, websites and email platforms; familiarity with Little Green Light, WordPress, and MailChimp.

Responsibilities

• Develop fundraising strategies and donor relationships to grow funding.
• Represent MDCEP to funders and donors and prepare staff for meetings.
• Create and implement annual fundraising communications calendar.
• Oversee LOIs, proposals, and grant reports with staff and grant writer.
• Ensure grant budgets reflect project needs and meet goals.
• Manage development operations including budgeting, invoicing, and gift processing.
• Maintain donor-facing website content and coordinate email outreach.
• Plan 2-3 small donor events annually.
