Job summary

SOAR! in Maryland is seeking a Director of Development to lead direct response fundraising, including mail appeals, newsletters, eblasts, texts and digital solicitations, while stewarding donors and overseeing online giving. The role also serves as donor database administrator (Raiser’s Edge/NXT) and oversees the monthly giving program.

The position collaborates with vendor partners and reports to the Vice President for Advancement, assisting with events as needed.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of progressive fundraising experience.
• At least two years of supervisory experience.
• Proficient in Raiser's Edge and data-driven fundraising.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Understanding of the Catholic Church and SOAR! mission.

Responsibilities

• Direct Response: develop and implement the annual direct response fundraising plan.
• Direct Response: manage vendor partners and annual budget for the program.
• Direct Response: identify congregations and grants to feature in direct mail.
• Direct Response: oversee invoices and financials for the direct mail program.
• Donor Database: perform weekly audits and maintain data integrity.
• Donor Database: create reports, queries and fundraising dashboards.
• Donor Database: supervise the donor database coordinator.
• Planned & Major Giving: identify major and planned giving donors.
• Planned & Major Giving: ensure messaging about planned giving is included.
