Job summary

The American Heart Association is hiring a Development Director for the Midland, TX area in a home-based role. The primary responsibility is to drive revenue through local corporate sponsorships and individual donations, building partnerships, and leading volunteer engagement.

The position requires experience in fundraising or sales, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and strong MS Office skills. Travel up to 75% locally is expected, with occasional overnight trips.

Qualifications

• 3 years of fundraising, sales, or related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to travel locally up to 75% and some overnight trips.
• Ability to lift/move large objects; teamwork may be required.
• Must have basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorship and individual donations.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate sponsors and donors through research matching campaign goals.
• Develop and present proposals to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
• Recruit and oversee executive volunteer leadership and day-of-event volunteers.
• Lead Cor Vitae giving society engagement with other fundraising staff and plan events.
• Plan events in collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Work with Communications Director to support campaign communication plans.
