Job summary

Misericordia Heart of Mercy in Chicago is seeking a Development Analyst in the Foundation department to accurately enter donations, maintain donor data quality, and produce timely gift acknowledgments. You will collaborate with volunteers and resident data-entry clerks to ensure donor records underpin fundraising, reporting, and stewardship efforts.

Reporting to the Development Manager, you will develop skills in donor database management and fundraising operations, with tuition reimbursement

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail with commitment to timeliness and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable working with volunteers and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Experience with donor management/CRM software (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) preferred.
• Experience in accounting/recordkeeping preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter all incoming donations into the donor database accurately and promptly.
• Ensure donor records are complete and correctly linked, including matching gifts.
• Apply consistent data entry standards across all gift types and campaigns.
• Flag and resolve data discrepancies with staff support as needed.
• Assist volunteers and residents with data entry and gift processing tasks.
• Review data for accuracy before finalization in the database.
• Generate timely donor gift acknowledgments and memorial plaques where needed.
• Prepare memorial donation lists for families and field donor inquiries.
