Role Overview

Reporting to the Executive Director, Development & Strategic Initiatives with a dotted line to the Assistant Dean for Advancement and Associate Vice President for External Relations, the Development Coordinator is primarily responsible for providing critical operational support for the Law School’s Development Team.

Grounded in the principle of cura personalis, this role plays a key role in ensuring an inclusive donor experience, maintaining operational accuracy, and supporting the day-to-day coordination that allows fundraising operations to run seamlessly.

This position requires some nights and weekend work hours for events.

Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.

Essential Functions
  • Conducts various campaign stewardship efforts, including assisting with the organization and implementation of cultivation activities for Board members and $100,000+ donors; manages and organizes preparations for the advisory board meetings, ensuring that activities are inclusive, accessible, and welcoming to participants of all religious and cultural backgrounds.
  • Provides operational support for the Law Development, manages office logistics, and assists with special project initiatives. Manages all stewardship event logistics for the annual Dean’s Society Reception and the annual Scholarship Reception, including data management for invitation mailings, RSVP tracking, and accurate, timely follow-up with attendees. Coordinates all logistics associated with a new fundraising and stewardship initiative, Fordham Law In‑House Counsel, approaching constituents with compassion, curiosity, and care.
  • Collaborates with Law School fundraisers to manage prospect and donor data, including maintaining prospects’ contact information, call reports, and generating monthly visits and proposals reports from various Development and University Relations systems; conducts research on prospects for donor briefings to be used by senior development team members and the Dean of Fordham Law School, utilizing reflective discernment to support strategy and deepen constituents’ connection to the mission.
  • Assists with the drafting of proposals, gift agreements and select stewardship reports, ensuring narratives translate objectives into inspiring pieces that drive inclusive excellence.
  • Manages meeting and travel logistics for the Executive Director of Development and Strategic Initiatives and the Associate Vice President for External Relations & Assistant Dean for Law School Advancement by managing calendars; coordinating a wide range of internal and external constituencies.
  • Produces a wide range of sophisticated lists, mail merges, and reports using various technologies, including Excel, Fordham Advance, and Microsoft PowerBI and distributes reports internally and externally, applying magis to drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversees department budget, including processing invoices, tracking expenditures, and handling supply orders, navigating all administrative interactions with integrity and a foundation of ethical discernment.

Management Responsibilities

May provide peer‑level coordination or subject‑matter guidance to colleagues performing similar work and/or student, part‑time workers, including helping organize tasks, clarify priorities, or review work for quality or consistency.

Additional Functions
  • In coordination with the Executive Director of Development and Strategic Initiatives, manages the tracking of token gifts for donors and alumni at events and appointments.
  • Ensures communications between the Associate Vice President for External Relations & Assistant Dean for Law School Advancement and their prospects are seamless and timely.
  • Manages SAP Concur expense reporting for senior development staff.
  • Serves as a key partner to hiring managers to orient and onboard new team members.
  • Performs administrative tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the office, including creating nametags, shipping to off‑site meeting locations, etc.
  • Manages meeting logistics for the Assistant Dean.
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of administrative support experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills

Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Expertise in Google Suite, including Gmail merges, and familiarity with database applications.

Strong capability in preparing presentations and strong writing skills.

Ability to articulate Fordham’s Jesuit identity to diverse stakeholders, demonstrating the capacity to connect administrative and operational work to the University’s broader mission.

Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and discretion when handling confidential information, navigating all interactions with integrity and a foundation of ethical discernment.

Able to communicate clearly and professionally.

Highly professional and detail‑oriented team player, demonstrating a collaborative, team‑oriented approach and a customer service mindset when engaging with internal partners.

Experience interacting with senior executives in the profit and non‑profit sectors, and comfortable dealing with professionals at all levels.

Able to work independently to solve problems with little supervision.

Ability and willingness to learn new tools/applications and provide support where there is a need.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SAPConcur, Zoom Software, CRM Advance, and Blackbaud Fundraiser Performance Management (FPM).

Salary

Minimum Starting Salary $70,000

Maximum Starting Salary $75,000

Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
