Serving as a key member of the Arts & Sciences Development Office, the Development Coordinator is responsible for a variety of administrative activities that support fundraising and engagement efforts to advance the mission of the school of Arts & Sciences. Reporting to the Associate Vice President, and supporting the full A&S Development team, this role will provide comprehensive scheduling support, travel coordination, budget maintenance and invoice processing, data management and reporting, conducts research for special projects, and assists in planning and executing strategic development meetings, events, and communications plans for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.

Administrative Support: Provides administrative support for the A&S Development team towards the goal of cultivating, soliciting, and engaging top alumni, parents, and friends of Dartmouth. Coordinates comprehensive travel planning and itinerary preparation; processes expense transactions in accordance with Dartmouth's policies and procedures. Work includes but is not limited to the preparation of correspondence, reports, and other materials with the responsibility of proofreading for accuracy and making editorial changes and/or suggestions, often securing pertinent information from multiple sources. Helps with communications materials and presentations for volunteer committees. Participates in team meetings in support of departmental fundraising efforts and associated activities, and completes tasks such as agenda development, scheduling, presentation support, and communications.

Data Management: Supports data management needs of team, using content management systems (including Advance, Power BI, and Data Warehouse) in daily operations. Inputs, extracts, organizes, and synthesizes data to create reports and presentations that facilitate the assessment of committee, donor, budget, and event work. Uses software for email marketing, and tracks event attendance in our content management system. Effectively and efficiently uses word processing, spreadsheets, and power point operations to perform individual tasks and manage projects. Updates and maintains a variety of highly confidential records used to ensure proper distribution and coordination of information among Advancement teams. Transmits gifts and verbal/written gift commitments from donors to Gift Recording Office following current best practices and guidelines. Uses sound judgment regarding the disclosure of confidential or sensitive information

Departmental Liaison: Effectively communicates with a range of offices within A&S, central Advancement, and across the institution to help meet programming objectives. Professionally represents the school to volunteers, donors, alumni, and vendors. Ensures consistency in processes and communications in support of fundraising, metrics, event planning, and other activities within the team. Active participant in knowledge sharing to build skills among the team and foster positive team collaborations. Performs special services for donors, prospects, and volunteers, such as responding to information requests, arranging special appointments and presentations. Work includes but is not limited to responding, tracking, and following through on all requests while providing guidance, detailed information, and answers to questions in a thoughtful and thorough manner

Event Support: Assists in supporting programming and events designed specifically to engage alumni and families of the Dartmouth undergraduate community. This support includes organizing special events, designing event communications, mailing hard copy and electronic invitations, coordinating logistics (including tracking of budgets and expenses) and other activities with various services.
