Job summary

Datadog is seeking a Platform Engineer/Content Engineer to act as a SME for service management and incident response. You will create demos, blogs, talks, docs, webinars, and coach internal engineering teams on effective communication.

You will collaborate with product engineering to build compelling demos and engage open source communities to drive key messaging and integrations for Datadog. The role emphasizes storytelling, public content, and hands-on engineering with Datadog, PagerDuty,

Qualifications

5+ years as Platform/SRE/DevOps or software development with on-call experience.
Strong understanding of service-management practices (incident response, on-call, post-incident reviews, SLOs).
Passion for helping teams fix organizational challenges at the intersection of people and tech.
2+ years storytelling and content creation (talks, blogs, demos, docs).
Publicly available writing samples or open source contributions.
Comfort with scripting languages (Node.js, Python, Go, Bash) and APIs in modern infra.
Eager to learn new technologies and languages through self-driven exploration.

Responsibilities

Act as SME for service management for advocacy and engineering teams.
Create content across demos, blogging, documentation, webinars, and open source.
Partner with product engineers to build demos and coach teams on communication.
Interface with open source communities to drive messaging and integrations for Datadog.
Contribute to the product with feedback, documentation, or code.
