Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks an experienced leader to manage multiple projects from preconstruction to closeout in Detroit, MI. You will build client relationships, mentor teams, and collaborate with Sales/Marketing to win work. Strong knowledge of BIM, Lean, costs, scheduling, and contracting is essential.

The role emphasizes risk management, budget oversight, and compliance with safety and ethics across complex construction programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree plus minimum eighteen years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques.
• Ability to seek out and find business opportunities.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications; advanced presentation skills.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with clients, the design community, and organizations to enhance future business development opportunities.
• Develop high-performance teams through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring; ensure regular feedback and timely performance appraisals.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing Departments to secure new work for the business unit.
• Ensure ethics and compliance requirements on all projects are followed.
• Provide leadership in risk evaluation, contract negotiations, fee and pricing decisions.
• Manage and lead multiple projects simultaneously from preconstruction through closeout.
• Oversee the development of the master project schedule and manage its implementation.
• Provide oversight for budget and financial management for all projects.
• Support and drive utilization of Turner initiatives and technologies.
• Oversee QA/QC program administration.
• Drive enforcement of safety protocols by project staff.
• Become a good corporate citizen and maximize Turner resources for business goals.
