Job summary

Brooksource seeks a Controls Engineer for a highly automated manufacturing facility in Detroit, MI. You will program and troubleshoot PLCs, robots, and machine controls, supporting Allen Bradley systems and HMI applications to keep production running smoothly.

The role focuses on electrical controls, vision systems, robotics, and automation initiatives, with responsibilities spanning startup, commissioning, diagnostics, and reliability improvements across the plant.

Qualifications

5+ years of controls, automation, or industrial engineering ownership and experience.

Responsibilities

Program and troubleshoot PLC, robotic, and machine control issues impacting production.
Support Allen Bradley PLC systems, HMI applications, and industrial automation equipment.
Commission new equipment including I/O checkout, startup support, and functional testing.
Diagnose electrical controls, machine faults, and automation system failures.
Maintain and modify HMI displays using FactoryTalk and Studio 5000 platforms.
Support robotics, vision systems, and machine safety devices throughout the plant.
Partner with manufacturing, maintenance, and production teams to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
