Job summary

Brooksource is seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to support design, programming, and commissioning of control systems for manufacturing equipment. You will develop PLC ladder logic, assist with HMI/SCADA using Ignition and Rockwell FactoryTalk, and troubleshoot plant-floor issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in controls or automation roles.
• Solid PLC fundamentals and ladder logic knowledge.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and solve problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive on the plant floor.
• Exposure to PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Opto, Phoenix Contact, or Pro-face.
• Familiarity with Opto Flowchart Programming.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, programming, and commissioning of control systems.
• Develop PLC ladder logic and troubleshoot existing equipment.
• Support HMI/SCADA development using Ignition and FactoryTalk View ME/SE.
• Troubleshoot electrical, software, and controls issues on the plant floor.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, backups, and SOPs.
• Learn to configure industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profinet).
• Contribute to continuous improvement and automation initiatives.
