Job summary

SABG is seeking a Deterrence Analyst (SME) to support USSTRATCOM/J57 deterrence planning and assessment at Offutt AFB, NE. TS clearance with SCI/NC2/SAP eligibility is required. The role emphasizes deterrence analysis, wargaming, and concept development for strategic deterrence.

The analyst will perform mission analyses across deterrence periods, coordinate with government and external experts, and develop courses of action to evaluate deterrent effects and risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in political science, international relations, economics, STEM, or a related national security field.
• Minimum 5 years in deterrence theory, models, and strategy.
• Minimum 5 years of historical U.S. deterrence strategy knowledge.
• Experience with game theory and related analytic methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine deterrence analyses, archiving sources and updating assessments.
• Engage with IC, outside experts, and agencies to enhance deterrence work.
• Advance deterrence thinking for multi-adversary scenarios and two-nuclear-peer deterrence.
• Conduct mission analysis for deliberate and campaign deterrence planning.
• Develop courses of action and measurement approaches for deterrence campaigns.
• Prepare reports, briefings, and planning documents for decision-makers.
• Support JPME-related education materials and engagements.
