Job summary

Strategic Alliance Business Group (SABG) is hiring a full-time Deterrence Analyst (SME) to support USSTRATCOM/J57 deterrence planning and assessment efforts under the SWRDS requirement. The Deterrence Analyst will provide advisory services supporting deterrence analysis, mission analysis, strategy development, planning, research, and assessment.

The position analyzes adversary perceptions and decision-making, expands deterrence thinking for multi-adversary environments, and supports development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Relations, Economics, STEM, or related national security degree.
• Minimum of 7 years of academic experience in U.S. defense policy, strategy, or plans, or 5 years demonstrated working knowledge.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in deterrence theory, models, and strategy.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with historical U.S. deterrence strategies and models.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in game theory.
• SME knowledge of strategic military strategy, planning, operations, and the nuclear enterprise.
• Foreign language capability in Mandarin or Russian is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Enhance deterrence analysis archiving and updating based on new information.
• Refine interactions with intelligence community, outside experts, and agencies.
• Advance deterrence thinking for strategy development against multiple adversaries.
• Conduct mission analysis supporting deliberate and campaign deterrence planning.
• Develop courses of action to achieve deterrence strategies and measure deterrent impact.
• Assess deterrence campaign impacts and risk of strategic deterrence failure.
• Maintain research capability to develop analytic methods and deterrence concepts.
• Prepare briefings, reports, and planning documents for Analytic Agenda.
