Job summary

EPITEC is seeking a Desktop Support Technician in Mineral Point, WI to provide hands-on IT support across manufacturing facilities. The role includes desktop imaging, printer support, and end-user assistance while maintaining servers and network gear at multiple sites.

This 100% on-site contract position requires strong customer service and troubleshooting skills, with travel between nearby facilities. You will work with Windows OS, TCP/IP networks, and imaging software to ensure reliable IT

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years desktop support, technical support, or IT infrastructure experience.
• Experience with imaging, printer support, and customer-facing technical support.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switching, and common network devices.
• Experience supporting Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide desktop support, imaging, troubleshooting, and maintenance for Windows-based computers and devices.
• Monitor site IT health, including servers, network equipment, UPS systems, and client devices.
• Assist with server setup, patching, software deployment, cable installations, and network documentation.
• Support printer troubleshooting and maintenance for end users.
• Escort vendors during maintenance activities and coordinate with plant personnel to ensure IT best practices are followed.
• Maintain network IDF documentation, port mappings, and site infrastructure records.

Job Title: Desktop Support Technician

Location: Mineral Point, WI (supporting additional sites in Stoughton and Janesville, WI)

Job Type: Contract

Expected Hours per Week: 40

Schedule: 100% On-Site, Monday-Friday

Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Desktop Support Technician to provide hands-on IT support in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong desktop support, imaging, networking, printer support, and customer service experience while supporting end users, servers, and network infrastructure across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide desktop support, imaging, troubleshooting, and maintenance for Windows-based computers and devices.
• Monitor site IT health, including servers, network equipment, UPS systems, and client devices.
• Assist with server setup, patching, software deployment, cable installations, and network documentation.
• Support printer troubleshooting and maintenance for end users.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Windows Server environments (2008-2019).
• Familiarity with Active Directory, antivirus platforms, and Windows security settings.
• Experience using remote desktop tools, Telnet/Putty, Teams, SharePoint, and imaging software.
• Exposure to server maintenance, system monitoring, and network cabling projects.
