IT Support Specialist

Primary Location: Johnson Creek, WI
Employment Type: Full time, on-site

Salary Description: $28.00 to $30.00

About the role

We are hiring an IT Support Specialist to serve as the primary on-site IT support presence at our Johnson Creek facility, while also supporting employees and systems across our other locations.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing IT role focused on day-to-day technical support, employee onboarding, hardware setup, troubleshooting, and shop-floor technology support. You will work closely with employees across the business, including office staff, production teams, and the broader IT team.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, helping people, working in a manufacturing environment, and taking ownership of support needs from start to finish. While this role will provide exposure to networking, infrastructure, and security, those areas are not the primary focus of the position and can be developed over time.

What you will do
Help Desk & End-User Support
  • Serve as the primary IT contact for Johnson Creek employees, providing support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, phones, and shop-floor PCs.
  • Respond to help desk tickets, troubleshoot technical issues, and follow through to resolution.
  • Share the company-wide ticket queue with the IT team, assisting with cross-site support needs that can be handled remotely.
  • Support Microsoft 365, Windows desktops, basic Active Directory tasks, user accounts, permissions, and common business applications.
  • Assist employees with hardware, software, login, printing, connectivity, and general IT questions.
  • Provide hands-on support for production-floor technology, including PCs, tablets, monitors, scanners, printers, and related equipment.
  • Manage new-hire onboarding at the Milwaukee site, including hardware preparation, workstation setup, account coordination, and equipment handoff.
  • Help maintain accurate records for equipment inventory, device assignments, and hardware lifecycle.
Site Support & Operations
  • Provide hands-and-eyes support at the Milwaukee facility for work coordinated by the Johnson Creek IT team.
  • Assist with basic physical IT infrastructure needs, including workstations, peripherals, cabling, conference room equipment, telephony, and server room checks.
  • Support shop-floor technology and factory monitoring systems by helping troubleshoot connectivity, device, and user issues.
  • Participate in occasional visits or rotation to the Johnson Creek location to stay familiar with the broader environment.
  • Contribute to IT documentation, run books, and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with occasional after-hours or weekend maintenance windows as needed.
Networking & Infrastructure Exposure
  • Assist the IT team with basic network troubleshooting, including Wi‑Fi, wired connections, printers, switches, and user connectivity issues.
  • Help coordinate with internal IT resources or vendors when network, firewall, VPN, ISP, or infrastructure issues arise.
  • Gain exposure to network segmentation, business networks, and shop-floor / OT environments.
  • Develop over time toward deeper involvement with switches, wireless, VLANs, firewalls, site-to-site connectivity, and infrastructure support.
