Job summary

firstPRO, Inc is seeking a dependable Desktop Services PC Service Technician to join our team in Reading, PA. This role blends hands-on technical support with physical workstation setup and relocation tasks.

Training will be provided, and the ideal candidate is reliable and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. Key duties include configuring, imaging, and deploying desktops and laptops, setting up monitors and peripherals, supporting office relocations, and handling 10–15 tickets daily.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience with PC support is required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, ServiceNow, Eracent, or Footprints.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment and walk between locations regularly.

Responsibilities

  • PC Setup & Deployment: Configure, image, and deploy desktops and laptops; coordinate with end users; install peripherals.
  • Reimaging & Device Preparation: Reimage devices and stage equipment per user roles and standards.
  • Software Support: Perform software installations and transfers; communicate with end users as needed.
  • Department Moves: Support office relocations, including disconnection, transport, and reinstallation of IT equipment.
  • Ticket Management: Handle 10–15 tickets per day; balance new equipment requests and break/fix tasks; coordinate with other teams.

Job description

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Desktop Services PC Service Technician to join our team. This role combines hands-on technical support with physical workstation setup and relocation tasks. While prior experience working with computers is required, training will be provided. The ideal candidate is reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes physically demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities:
PC Setup & Deployment
  • Configure, image, and deploy desktops and laptops (both pre-configured and unprovisioned devices)
  • Coordinate directly with end users before and after device delivery to ensure readiness
  • Install and set up monitors, docking stations, printers, and other peripherals
Reimaging & Device Preparation
  • Reimage devices for performance issues or reassignment to new users
  • Prepare and stage equipment in accordance with user roles and organizational standards
Software Support
  • Perform software installations and transfers
  • Communicate with end users when manual intervention is required
Department Moves
  • Support office relocations, including disconnection, transport, and reinstallation of IT equipment
  • Reconfigure peripherals such as printers and phones to ensure seamless transitions
Ticket Management
  • Handle approximately 10–15 tickets per day
  • Workload typically split between new equipment requests and break/fix troubleshooting
  • Partner with warehouse/shop administration for equipment coordination
  • Communicate regularly with Desktop Engineering and Service Desk teams
  • Adjust priorities as workload shifts throughout the day
  • Respond effectively to changing demands and urgent requests
Qualifications:
