Responsibilities

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain desktops and peripherals.
• Image systems with approved OS baseline and manage user data backups/restores.
• Apply updates, patches, and STIG settings using government tools.
• Deliver, pick up, and relocate end-user devices at the service desk and at duty locations.
• Support OS family including Windows, Linux, UNIX, macOS, iOS, and Android.
• Coordinate and verify vendor warranty repairs and report completed actions.

Job Details: Job Location: Fort Hood, TX 76544, Position Type: Full Time, Position Title: Desktop Support / Touch Labor Technician (Tier 2-3)

Location: Fort Hood, TX; White Sands Missile Range, NM

Clearance required: SECRET (Tier 3 / T3R investigation); interim Secret required before starting work.

Scope of Work: Provides hands-on desktop, peripheral, and software support, including imaging, deployment, relocation, and STIG-compliant configuration of end-user devices across ATEC locations.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain desktops, laptops, tablets, monitors, printers, and multi-function devices
• Image systems with the current approved operating system baseline and perform user data backup, restore, and hard drive recovery
• Apply software, firmware, security updates, vendor patches, IAVAs, CVEs, and STIG settings using Government-provided tools
• Deliver, pick up, and relocate end-user devices at the service desk and at the user's place of duty
• Support operating systems including Microsoft, Linux, UNIX, macOS, Apple iOS, and Android
• Coordinate and verify vendor warranty repairs and report completed actions

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
• U.S. citizenship
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English proficiently
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office software
• Active Secret clearance (Tier 3 / T3R); interim Secret required before starting
• DoD 8140 / 8570.01-M baseline certification appropriate to the assigned work role and level, held prior to performance, with the required computing environment (CE) certification obtained within six (6) months of appointment.
