Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Desktop Support Technician in Texas to install OS images and applications, and to coordinate with vendors on cabling and IT needs. You will troubleshoot end-user hardware, software, and connectivity, maintain asset data, and ensure systems meet standards.

The role emphasizes patient/staff safety compliance with hospital policies, budgeting, and team mentoring. On-site, full-time position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or two years IT field experience.
  • Experience with Windows 10/11, VDI, and network printing.
  • Experience with standard software installs and hardware repairs.
  • Experience with the ServiceNow ticketing system.

Responsibilities

  • Automates installation of OS images and applications.
  • Coordinates vendor walk-throughs for cabling and IS needs.
  • Troubleshoots end-user hardware, software and connectivity issues.
  • Maintains accurate asset information in the tracking system.
  • Ensures information systems meet corporate standards and end-user requirements.
  • Adheres to hospital policies; ensures safe care within budget and time constraints.
  • Serves as preceptor/mentor and supports staff development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description


  • Utilizes software tools to automate the installation of OS images and application software.


  • Coordinates walk-throughs with vendors to determine cabling and other IS related needs.


  • Knowledgeable of all facilities for on-call purposes.


  • Provides solutions to end user hardware, software and connectivity issues by using troubleshooting and technical skills.


  • Reports deployment of spare equipment to Senior or Lead Desktop Solutions Specialist and coordinates the repair of broken equipment when placed out of service.


  • Maintains accurate information/data regarding end user issues within the tracking system and updates asset information/data when equipment is moved, added or changed.


  • Ensures that all information systems products and services meet minimum corporate standards and end user requirements.


  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all hospital policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.


  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.


  • Other duties as assigned.
