Position: Desktop Support Technician

Location: San Antonio, TX OR Orange, TX

Job type: Contract to Hire

Our client, a national private EPC Firm, is hiring a Desktop Support Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity in San Antonio, TX OR Orange, TX.

The Desktop Support Technician handles complex technical support tasks, including imaging, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and software. Provides advanced troubleshooting for Windows, Office 365, and basic network/server issues. Escalates issues when needed and collaborates with Desktop Support Technician II to resolve problems. Ensures timely incident resolution and delivers excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Image PCs and deploy applications using SCCM.
  • Install, replace, and configure hardware; install and configure standard business and engineering software.
  • Perform general user and copier relocations for existing setups.
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting of Windows 10 & 11 OS, desktops/laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Install and troubleshoot O365 applications (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, MS Office).
  • Assist with basic network and server troubleshooting (e.g., disk replacement, memory upgrade, server restart).
  • Perform installation and preventive maintenance of network and server equipment.
  • Support infrastructure mobilization/demobilization for changing construction environments.
  • Manage Active Directory user accounts, including creation, deletion, modification, and resolving account lockouts.
  • Document IT processes for use by Service Desk and technical teams.
Requirements:
  • Hands-on experience with imaging, deploying, and troubleshooting machines.
  • Experience supporting Windows 10 & 11 OS and Office 365 products.
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, networking, switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs, and wireless.
  • Ability to focus in a demanding environment.
  • Professional customer service experience.
  • Detail-oriented with good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively without direct supervision.
  • Willingness to work overtime if required.
