Telecommunication Technician Audio Video/Video Teleconferencing

A Telecommunication Technician Audio Video/Video Teleconferencing is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining audiovisual and video teleconferencing systems. They work with various audiovisual equipment, such as cameras, microphones, speakers, displays, and control systems, to ensure smooth and reliable communication during video conferences and presentations. They troubleshoot technical issues, perform equipment upgrades, and provide support to end-users. Additionally, they may assist in the setup and operation of video conferencing events or meetings. The Telecommunication Technician Audio Video/Video Teleconferencing plays a crucial role in facilitating effective communication and collaboration through audiovisual technology.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Telecommunication Technician Audio Video/Video Teleconferencing: $65,000 to $70,000 annually.

Pay is commensurate with experience.

Full-time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Set up, facilitate, test, and operate all AV/VTC equipment in conference centers and rooms.
2. Provide operational and maintenance support for NIPR/SIPR A/V VTC systems and related equipment, including training rooms, auditoriums, and signage systems.
3. Troubleshoot Tier 1 & Tier 2 issues related to A/V display sharing and control interfaces.
4. Perform preventive maintenance, installation, operation, and troubleshooting of AV/VTC assets.
5. Maintain accurate telecommunication documentation and update Standard Operating Procedures as needed.
6. Assist with troubleshooting and diagnostics for all related systems and equipment failures.
7. Support system upgrades and collaborate on telecommunications and networking projects.
8. Research emerging audiovisual technologies for future implementation.
9. Leverage current system knowledge to enhance capabilities and features.
10. Create, update, and resolve trouble tickets; enter service request tickets daily.

Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities:

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience with VTC troubleshooting, setup, and knowledge of Polycom/Cisco/Tandberg systems.
• Experience in managing VTC trouble tickets and setups.
• Knowledge of Polycom, Cisco, Tandberg video components and systems.
• Ability to perform technical analysis and system design for audiovisual solutions.
• Experience with large, complex projects involving upgrades, modifications, and installations.
• On-site telecommunications design supporting agency IT standards and policies.

Additional Requirements:

• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
• Position is 100% onsite.
• Active SECRET clearance required.
