Position Description:

The Desktop Support Technician will provide high-level technical support to students, staff, and faculty, including hardware and software installation, diagnosis, and repair. The role requires excellent communication skills, a customer service focus, and the ability to work collaboratively within a higher education environment. Responsibilities include supporting hardware and software issues, documenting system requirements, managing hardware/software deployment, and ensuring timely support via call and ticket queues.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in technical training and broad technical support
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as DHCP, TCP/IP
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills for working with diverse campus community
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience
  • CA Driver's License
  • ITIL Foundation or HDI Support Analyst certifications
  • Knowledge of university’s business processes and security standards
  • Experience providing customer service in a university setting
