Role Summary
We are seeking a customer-focused and adaptable Desktop Support Technician to provide comprehensive hardware and software support to employees and incoming new hires.
The successful candidate will be responsible for desktop support, hardware deployment, troubleshooting, IMAC activities, asset and inventory management, VIP support, and administrative reporting.
This role requires excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment.
The position will also require travel between offices of up to 150 miles, with mileage reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hardware and software support to employees and incoming new hires
- Image and install software on Windows and Apple laptops/desktops
- Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities and provide remote support
- Troubleshoot post-deployment issues across Windows, Macintosh, and mobile devices
- Provide printer installation, configuration, and break/fix support
- Perform hardware disposal, redeployment, and asset reclamation activities
- Coordinate hardware shipping and receiving activitiesCoordinate data backup and data recovery services
- Support hardware refresh initiatives and equipment replacement
- Coordinate warranty and out-of-warranty repairs and replacements
- Provide Depot Services, including equipment preparation and management
- Deliver Walk-Up Support to users
- Manage and maintain spare parts inventory
- Provide Executive/VIP Support with a high level of professionalism and customer service
- Provide Audio and Video (AV) Support, including equipment health checks
- Perform Inventory and Asset Management as part of Depot Operations
- Coordinate with external vendors for dispatch and onsite support
- Identify and resolve hardware and software application conflicts
- Open and close service requests and incidents while managing classification, assignment, tracking, and completion
- Perform asset tagging and ensure all incoming equipment is accurately entered into the asset management system
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the successful onboarding of new hires
- Ensure hardware is properly assigned and updated in the asset management system
- Prepare weekly physical inventory reports and track weekly hardware outflows
- Coordinate with external suppliers to schedule repairs for damaged or malfunctioning hardware
- Ensure all technical resolutions are consistent with company standards, procedures, and policies
- Adapt to changing priorities and quickly learn new technologies, processes, and tools
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- 3-5 years of IT experience, including relevant technical training preferred
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Macintosh platforms, including laptops and portable devices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with Windows 10 imaging and deployment
- Familiarity with basic network concepts, including TCP/IP, Windows Networking, and Ethernet
- Experience supporting networked printers, including queue creation and basic server maintenance
- Experience using PC-based word processing, presentation, email, and spreadsheet applications
- Ability to use spreadsheet software to create formulas, perform calculations across multiple worksheets, and utilize functions
- Experience working in or supporting a call center, service desk, or help desk environment
- Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of IMAC, H&E, AV Support, Break/Fix, and IT troubleshooting
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple competing requests
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong aptitude for learning and adapting to new technologies
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Ability and willingness to work extended hours or modified schedules when required for planned activities or emergency situations
- MCP and/or CompTIA A+ certification preferred
- Ability to lift and handle equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver's license required
- Own vehicle required for transportation between offices; mileage will be reimbursed according to company policy
