Job summary

The Desktop Support Technician at City of Reading provides first- and second-level IT support for hardware, software, and applications across local and remote environments in Reading, PA. You will document incidents and escalate to meet SLAs and coordinate with vendors when needed.

The role requires a degree or equivalent experience, 18 months of hands-on IT support, and proficiency with Windows 10/11, Office 365, AD, GPOs, and MDM. Some after-hours support may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 18 months of hands-on desktop support or IT help desk experience.
• Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, MCP, or Microsoft 365 Fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Deliver first- and second-level support for hardware, software, and applications.
• Log and document incidents and service requests in the IT ticketing system.
• Install and troubleshoot Windows OS (Windows 10/11) and Office 365.
• Provide macOS assistance when needed and support enterprise apps like Cisco Jabber.
• Maintain printers and peripheral devices and perform routine maintenance.
