Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in the United States is seeking a hardware-focused IT help desk professional to support desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. You will perform IMAC activities, imaging, and troubleshooting while coordinating with IT teams and vendors.

The role emphasizes second-line support, incident handling, and strict adherence to IT policies. Strong hardware/software knowledge and ServiceNow experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of desktop/laptop hardware.
• Hands-on experience with hardware and software.
• Proficient in Windows 10/7 and MS Office.
• Knowledge of Mac OS.
• Experience installing software and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and hardware/software knowledge.
• Experience with laptops, desktops and mobile devices.
• Peripherals support including printers and scanners.

Responsibilities

• Provide second-line investigation and diagnosis.
• Resolve and close incidents/service requests per procedures.
• Escalate unresolved issues within agreed timescales.
• Log incident details and communicate progress to the client.
• Keep tickets updated until resolution; adhere to HSE/IT policies.
• Liaise with clients, IT support groups and third parties as needed.
• Perform staging of PCs and IMAC activities (Install, Move, Add, Change).
• Conduct hardware/software maintenance and support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve PC incidents and VIP requests.
• Manage inventory, spare parts, asset disposal, and logistics.
• Coordinate hardware breaks with vendors; support imaging and provisioning.
