Job summary

nVent is seeking an experienced design engineer to develop and document new and existing products. You will create 3D models and drawings, generate BOMs, and prepare documentation to fully define parts for manufacture with minimal supervision.

Ideal candidates will have a 2-year drafting degree, 1–2 years of drafting/design experience, and strong SolidWorks skills. Familiarity with GD&T and PLM/JDE systems is a plus in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 2-year technical degree preferred in drafting or design.
  • 1-2 years mechanical drafting/design experience.
  • SolidWorks experience required.
  • Knowledge of drafting standards and GD&T helpful.
  • Experience with ENOVIA PLM or JD Edwards is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform required calculations to ensure all dimensions, tolerances and other specifications are accurate as represented.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

YOU HAVE:

  • Experience usingSolidWorksa must

  • Knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, and manufacturing processes

  • Proficiency in mechanical or electrical for designing, assisting and directing the build of components and assemblies

  • Experience with ENOVIA PLM system or JD Edwards experience a bonus

  • Experience designing large assemblies a plus

  • Knowledge of welding of stainless steel and sheet metal design a plus

  • Knowledge of tubing and manifold designs for fluids a bonus

  • Knowledge of plastic part design beneficial

Pay Transparency

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range:

$23.90 - $44.40 Per Hour

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
