Job summary

nVent is seeking a skilled Draughting/Mechanical Development professional in Jackson, MS to review customer requirements and develop precise product builds. You’ll work with AutoCAD and 3D CAD tools to create, modify, and verify drawings, BOMs, and release packages for production.

You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to ensure manufacturability and accuracy. Ideal candidates have an associate degree in a related field and 3–5+ years in product development or drafting, with

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Drafting, Build Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar build platforms.
  • Understanding of mechanical product building, drafting standards, and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to build detailed drawings, assemblies, and product designs with a high level of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and materials.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Ideally 3-5+ years of product development, mechanical development, drafting, or related experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop final drawing packages and release builds for production.
  • Support manufacturing by providing fabrication drawings and assisting with design-related questions throughout production.
