Job summary

nVent seeks a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to support production and the engineering team. You will troubleshoot equipment, help install automated systems, and drive safety and efficiency improvements across the line.

Responsibilities include supporting Lean initiatives, creating work instructions, and documenting process changes for ECOs, BOMs, and routings. Strong problem-solving and cross-functional communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or AA/AS degree (or two-year post-high school training) required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, develop ideas, and drive safety improvements daily.
  • Assist with layout planning, installation, and testing of automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This role plays a key part in supporting the production and manufacturing engineering team by troubleshooting equipment issues, developing new ideas and solutions, and driving safety improvements on a daily basis.
  • Assist with layout planning, installation, and testing of automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Work with a sense of urgency in a fast paced, high output environment on a variety of short-term projects.
  • Support and implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Work with vendors/suppliers to procure and install tooling, fixtures, and/or equipment.
  • Create documentation for the processes used in building products.
  • Recommend product improvement and maintain standard drawings/specs.
  • Support new product launches and development (PDP Process).
  • Provide documentation for estimating the cost of materials and labor of manufactured product.
  • Support daily production through troubleshooting, testing, and validation of product.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Ability to network cross-functionally.
  • Ability to show initiative, be a self-starter and be able to work with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment.
  • Ability to use computer programs including MS Office, MRP (JD Edwards preferred), SolidWorks, etc. - intermediate level.
  • Ability to process engineering change orders (ECO's) as they relate to bills of material and product routings.
  • Ability to document processes in work instructions format.
  • Knowledge on DFM (Design for Manufacturability) to provide input for new and existing products.
  • Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of product costing labor and material.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training)
  • 2-years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Pay Transparency

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range:$20.40 - $37.80 Per Hour

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
