While our work spans a wide range of markets, this opportunity is within our growing Retail Studio, where we support some of the nation's largest retail brands through every phase of project delivery.

Based in our Katy, TX office, you'll help shape the design of projects ranging from ground-up stores and major expansions to mixed-use developments, tenant improvements, and prototype rollouts across the United States.

As a Designer, you'll transform concepts into compelling architectural solutions through thoughtful planning, visualization, and presentation. Working closely with Project Managers, Architectural Job Captains, and clients, you'll help bring ideas to life while maintaining a balance between creativity, functionality, and constructability.

What You'll Do
  • Develop creative architectural concepts for commercial retail and mixed-use projects.
  • Create presentation-quality site plans, floor plans, elevations, renderings, diagrams, and graphics.
  • Explore multiple design options that balance client goals, functionality, and aesthetics.
  • Assist in developing prototype adaptations and site-specific design solutions.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Architectural Job Captains, consultants, and clients throughout the design process.
  • Produce presentation materials for client meetings, entitlement efforts, and public approvals.
  • Support the integration of AI-assisted workflows and emerging design technologies.
  • Help establish and maintain design standards across the Retail Studio.
Who You Are

You're a creative problem solver who enjoys turning ideas into architecture.

You have a strong eye for design, proportion, materials, and composition, while understanding that successful projects must also be practical and buildable.

You're curious, collaborative, and always looking for ways to improve both the design and the process behind it.

What We're Looking For
Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • 3–10 years of professional architectural experience.
  • Architectural registration or progress toward licensure is a plus.
  • Experience designing commercial retail, mixed-use, commercial, or industrial projects is preferred.
  • Experience with national retail brands or prototype-based projects is a plus.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit.
  • Strong presentation and visualization skills.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign.
  • Experience with Lumion, D5, Enscape, Twinmotion, or similar visualization software.
  • SketchUp and Rhino experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of commercial building systems, building codes, and construction methodology.
Professional Skills
  • Strong design portfolio demonstrating creativity and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration and organizational skills.
  • A passion for thoughtful, innovative architectural design.
Success in This Role

Within your first year, you will:

  • Produce presentation-quality work that effectively communicates design intent.
