Job summary

MMA Architects, based in Neptune, New Jersey, is seeking an entry-level Architect to develop construction documents and gain exposure to permitting, coordination, and administration on national retail projects.

You will work alongside experienced architects and project managers, building core technical skills, contributing to ground-up stores, remodels, and prototype rollouts while advancing toward licensure and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • 0–5 years of professional architectural experience.
  • Working toward architectural licensure is encouraged.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules.
  • Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, MEP, civil, and specialty consultants.
  • Assist with code research and implementation of building code requirements.
  • Support permit submissions and responses to agency review comments.
  • Participate in field surveys and existing conditions documentation.
  • Assist with construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field coordination.
  • Help maintain and adapt prototype standards for projects across the country.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and consultants to deliver coordinated construction documents.
  • Continue developing your technical knowledge through mentoring and project experience.
  • Develop coordinated construction documents with increasing independence.
  • Gain confidence working with consultants and project managers.
  • Build technical knowledge of commercial building systems, codes, and detailing.
  • Understand the complete project lifecycle from design through construction.
  • Become a dependable member of the Retail Studio who consistently delivers high-quality work.

While our work spans a wide range of markets, this opportunity is within our growing Retail Studio, where we support some of the nation's largest retail brands through every phase of project delivery.

Based in our Neptune, New Jersey office, you'll work alongside experienced architects and project managers on projects ranging from ground-up stores and major expansions to remodels, tenant improvements, and prototype rollouts across the United States.

This position focuses primarily on developing construction documents while providing exposure to consultant coordination, permitting, and construction administration. What You'll Do

What We're Looking For
Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
