Job summary

Assembled is seeking a design engineer to lead the next generation of our design system from our San Francisco office. You will define the visual language, components, and patterns that empower every product team to ship cohesive, accessible experiences across desktop and mobile.

You will partner with our Design Systems Engineer to pioneer AI-assisted workflows, codify reusable patterns, and extend the system to solve enterprise needs. This onsite role is in SF, five days a week.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing and shipping production B2B software.
• Experience building and maintaining design systems across multiple teams.
• Strong visual craft and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate with frontend engineers on component APIs.
• Experience with design tooling and tokens.

Responsibilities

• Lead the next generation of Assembled's design system.
• Define reusable interaction patterns for AI-native products.
• Establish governance and documentation to enable adoption across teams.
• Pioneer AI-assisted design-system workflows with engineering.
• Extend the system to address data-dense, enterprise workflows.
