Job summary

Anthropic in San Francisco is seeking a senior designer focused on design systems to elevate the language of our UI and core interactions across Claude products.

You will partner with engineers and product designers, prototype in code, and ship design-system updates that balance polish, accessibility, and brand. You’ll influence everything from tokens to components and collaborate across teams to ship fast and learn in the open.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in design or related field.
• Strong visual and interaction craft.
• Experience building or contributing to design systems.
• Experience with design tokens, theming and accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve the design system from foundations to components (menus, dialogs, sidebars, chat composer).
• Develop the expressive layer as a system: motion, illustration, icons that are brand and system aligned.
• Make the system legible to both Claude and users through guidance, metadata and evals.
• Collaborate with product teams to apply the system effectively and feed gaps back into the system.
• Prototype in code and ship changes in the design-system package with engineers.
