Job summary

Genius AI is seeking a Senior Design Systems Designer to lead the vision and evolution of the design system as the company scales and rebrands. You will own standards, drive adoption, and maintain a robust component library for mobile and web.

You’ll lead design tokens, Figma libraries, and cross-functional handoffs with engineering, champion accessibility, and govern documentation. You’ll mentor teammates and influence the roadmap for scalable design across the organization.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of product design with a strong focus on design systems.
• Portfolio demonstrating UI craft and end-to-end product thinking.
• Proven track record owning and scaling a design system in production.
• Expert-level Figma skills including components, variables, auto layout and prototyping.
• Deep systems thinker building for edge cases and scale.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with engineers, PMs and designers.

Job description

Genius AI is seeking a Senior Design Systems Designer to join the design systems team and drive the vision, standards, and evolution of the design system as the company scales, invests in AI, and undergoes a company-wide rebrand.

Responsibilities will include:

• Own the vision and execution of the design system, defining standards, driving adoption, and evolving the system as the product scales
• Architect and maintain a robust component library with well-documented, reusable UI components for mobile and web
• Lead the development of design tokens, Figma libraries, variables, and naming conventions to support a scalable, consistent visual language
• Drive the design-to-development handoff process, partnering closely with engineering to bridge Figma and production and reduce friction in releases
• Champion accessibility, quality, and craft standards across all components and patterns in the system
• Own documentation and governance, making the system easy to understand, adopt, and contribute to across the organization
• Play a key role in the company-wide rebrand, ensuring the new visual language is systematized and applied consistently across the product
• Identify and implement tooling efficiencies, including AI-powered workflows, to improve team velocity and output quality
• Mentor and collaborate with other designers, raising the craft level of the broader team
• Influence roadmap and prioritization for the design systems team, bringing a strategic point of view to what gets built and when

You’re a great fit if you:

• Have 4+ years of product design experience with significant, hands-on focus on design systems, component libraries, or design infrastructure
• Have a portfolio that demonstrates strong UI craft and end-to-end product thinking
• Have a proven track record of owning and scaling a design system in a production environment
• Possess expert-level Figma skills, including components, variables, auto layout, libraries, and prototyping
• Are a deep systems thinker who builds for edge cases and designs with scale in mind
• Are a strong cross-functional collaborator who can align engineers, PMs, and designers around shared standards
• Can articulate and defend design decisions clearly
• Have a mobile-first mindset and design with that context naturally
• Have experience contributing to the pillars of a design system such as tokens, accessibility, working with code/developers, documentation, and contribution models
• Have a passion for empowering small business owners and a high level of empathy for customers
• Nice to have: Experience with Storybook, Tokens Studio, Style Dictionary; rebrand or platform evolution experience; curiosity about AI tools like Cursor or Claude
