Job summary

Amazon Health Services is seeking a Design Systems Designer to scale our component library and define visual patterns across AI-forward interfaces. You will work to ensure design-system fidelity, collaborate with engineers, and pioneer AI-assisted workflows within the design system.

You will craft detailed specs, tokens, and patterns for generative UI, with a focus on cross-product consistency and accessibility, while contributing to automated documentation and team reviews.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of design experience.
• Online portfolio available.
• Experience in collaborative design teams.
• Strong visual design skills and systematic thinking.
• Experience building or maintaining design systems and libraries.
• Understanding of how design translates to code.
• Active interest in AI tools to accelerate workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable UI components, patterns, and guidelines within the AHS design system.
• Define and evolve visual tokens to ensure consistency across products.
• Audit surfaces for system adherence and identify new patterns.
• Create detailed component specs including states, responsive behavior, accessibility, and usage guidance.
• Define patterns for AI-driven experiences within the system.
• Collaborate with front-end engineers to ensure coded components match design intent.
• Identify and implement AI-powered workflows to accelerate design systems operations.
• Contribute to design system documentation and design critiques.
