Job summary

Assembled seeks a product designer to lead the next generation of its design system in San Francisco, defining visual and interaction foundations that scale across desktop and mobile. You will shape the components, patterns, and design language that empower every product team to ship cohesive, accessible experiences.

You’ll collaborate with our Design Systems Engineer to pioneer AI-assisted workflows, establish governance, and create reusable patterns for enterprise products.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing and shipping production B2B software with ownership of a design system used across multiple teams.
• Strong visual craft with a high bar in design output.
• Systems thinking: primitives and reusable patterns that scale across a product.
• Hands-on experience structuring Figma libraries, tokens, variables, components and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the next generation of Assembled's design system with visual language and patterns for desktop and mobile.
• Define governance, documentation, and contribution models for system adoption and extension.
• Define reusable interaction patterns for AI-native products and how people direct, trust, and collaborate with AI agents.
• Pioneer AI-assisted design-system workflows with production-quality UI and faster handoffs to implementation.
• Extend the system to tackle data-dense, enterprise workflows with reusable patterns across the product.
