Job summary

Build AI in San Francisco is seeking a designer who can elevate our product, site, job board, and internal tools with exceptional taste. You will shape the look and feel of both digital interfaces and physical merch, collaborating with product and hardware teams to ensure visuals meet a high standard.

You will ship across brand systems, UI and packaging, and drive design decisions that attract people to join and engage with the company. This role is in-person in the San Francisco office.

Qualifications

• Taste is obvious in your work and portfolio
• You've shipped both digital and physical/brand assets
• Fluent design sense to ship interfaces and layouts yourself
• Able to function as the design lead without managing a large team

Responsibilities

• Own visual taste across product, brand, and anything a human sees
• Treat the website, job board, and recruiting surfaces as products you ship
• Create interfaces, artifacts, and merch that reinforce the company image
• Design merch and physical objects and collaborate on collection hardware CMF
• Work with Product Lead and software so tools aren’t ugly by default
• Maintain a high bar as speed increases to avoid cheap-looking shipping
