Job summary

Slate is seeking a Design Release Engineer, Body Closures, to lead the design and development of vehicle outer closures—doors, hoods, liftgates—through concept to launch. You will own exterior components, ensure manufacturability, and drive DFMEA, DFM, DFA and DFS during the program lifecycle.

Location is Troy, MI with 20% travel; salary around $132,267 annually. Collaboration with internal teams and suppliers is essential to meet safety and regulatory targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Five (5) years of experience in related roles.
• Experience must include one year using Catia V5, Teamcenter, DFMEA, BIW & closure system, concepts and feasibility, master-sections, DFM, DFA, DFS, durability, crash & NVH targets.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop vehicle body closures and assemblies from concept to production.
• Ensure cost, timing, manufacturability, durability, crash and NVH targets are met.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, partners and suppliers to meet program requirements and support reviews.

Education
