Advantage Technical in Dearborn, MI seeks a Design Release Engineer to drive automotive closure system design from concept through production. You will support DFMEA, lead CAD model development, review drawings, and coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure design intent and robust implementation.

The role requires collaboration with engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing to achieve on-time program milestones. Hybrid schedule with competitive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field required.
• Experience in automotive component design, product development, or engineering release activities.
• Familiarity with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
• Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications and design documentation.
• Ability to perform measurements and design reviews using CAD software.
• Experience with NX, CATIA, SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
• Knowledge of GD&T, design validation, and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of automotive closures, body structures, or exterior systems.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and supplier coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering release activities for automotive closure systems and adjoining components.
• Develop and review 3D CAD models while ensuring fit, finish, and design intent.
• Lead and maintain DFMEA documentation throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Review designs for compliance with engineering standards and design requirements.
• Coordinate with suppliers to address quality concerns, corrective actions, and engineering changes.
• Create and maintain verification records, evidence packages, and technical documentation.
• Participate in design reviews, interference checks, and cross-functional program meetings.
• Support production readiness, quality objectives, and program milestones.

Pay: $36.67+/hour

Schedule: Hybrid (4 days onsite per week)
