Advantage Technical is seeking a Product Engineer specializing in automotive body closures and side door assemblies in Dearborn, MI. You will join a hands-on engineering team supporting vehicle development, validation, and production, contributing to design and problem solving across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in body closures or related automotive systems.
• Proficiency with CATIA, Teamcenter, 3D modeling software and MS Office.
• Experience with BOM management, product validation, and engineering releases.
• Strong knowledge of mechanics of materials, steel/aluminum, statics and dynamics.
• Understanding of Six Sigma, FMEA, root cause analysis and problem-solving tools.

Responsibilities

• Support development of side door structures, hinges, check arms, and related closure components.
• Manage product lifecycle activities including design, BOM management, supplier coordination, prototype builds, testing, and production support.
• Perform root cause analysis and issue resolution using Six Sigma and DMAIC methodologies.
• Review and interpret CAE reports, durability studies, and validation testing results.
• Maintain engineering releases and BOM accuracy throughout program milestones.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, suppliers, and engineering teams.
• Support design reviews, change management activities, and production launches.
• Drive solutions for product quality, manufacturing, and assembly concerns.

Pay Rate: $42.31 per Hour

Hybrid - 4 Days Onsite

Are you an experienced Product Engineer with a background in automotive body closures and side door assemblies? Join a dynamic engineering team supporting vehicle development, validation, and production for high-profile automotive programs. Job Duties

• Support development of side door structures, hinges, check arms, and related closure components


• Manage product lifecycle activities including design, BOM management, supplier coordination, prototype builds, testing, and production support

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with liftgates, tailgates, movable glass, moonroofs, or sealing systems


• Project management and leadership experience


• Knowledge of 3D printing technologies
