Pro Staff in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Product Engineer – Body Closures with 2+ years of automotive experience to join our engineering team supporting vehicle development, validation, and production for major programs. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience with body closures, side door assemblies, hinges, or related automotive systems.
• Proficiency with CATIA, Teamcenter, 3D modeling software and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with BOM management, product validation, manufacturing processes, and engineering releases.
• Strong knowledge of mechanics of materials, steel and aluminum properties, statics and dynamics.
• Understanding of Six Sigma, FMEA, root cause analysis and problem solving tools.

Responsibilities

• Support development of side door structures, hinges, check arms, and related closure components.
• Manage product lifecycle activities including design, BOM management, supplier coordination, prototype builds, testing, and production support.
• Perform root cause analysis and issue resolution using Six Sigma and DMAIC methodologies.
• Review and interpret CAE reports, durability studies, and validation testing results.
• Maintain engineering releases and BOM accuracy throughout program milestones.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, suppliers, and engineering teams.
• Support design reviews, change management activities, and production launches.
• Drive solutions for product quality, manufacturing, and assembly concerns.
