Advantage Technical is hiring a Design and Release Product Engineer in Dearborn, MI, onsite. The role focuses on design, development, validation, and launch of automotive mechanical components and vehicle closure systems, including handles and latches.

Responsibilities include CAD creation/review, engineering changes, supplier collaboration, product testing, and PPAP processes. Bachelor’s in ME and 2+ years’ experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years engineering experience in product design, development, or launch.
• Experience with automotive or other mechanical systems/mechanisms.
• CATIA or similar 3D CAD experience.
• Knowledge of GD&T and mechanical design principles.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

• Work with suppliers and cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Support product testing, validation, PPAP, and production launches; investigate product issues and support root cause and corrective actions.
• Ensure designs meet quality, cost, durability, and performance requirements.

Location: Dearborn, MI - Fully Onsite

Pay Rate: $42.31/hour

We are seeking a Design and Release Product Engineer to support the design, development, validation, and launch of automotive mechanical components and vehicle closure systems, including handles, locks, latches, hinges, and related mechanisms.

Job Duties

• Support the design, development, validation, and release of mechanical components
• Create and review CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and engineering changes
• Work with suppliers and cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
• Support product testing, validation, PPAP, and production launchesInvestigate product issues and support root cause and corrective actions
• Ensure designs meet quality, cost, durability, and performance requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 2+ years of engineering experience in product design, development, or launch
• Experience with automotive or other mechanical systems/mechanisms
• CATIA or similar 3D CAD experience
• Knowledge of GD&T and mechanical design principles
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Relevant experience may include vehicle closures/latching systems, seating mechanisms, heavy or agricultural equipment, construction equipment, aerospace mechanisms, or similar mechanical products.

Experience with Teamcenter, DFMEA/PFMEA, PPAP, root cause analysis, and Design & Release Engineering is a plus.
