Pro Staff in Dearborn, MI is seeking an experienced Design & Release Engineer for underbody structures. The role involves leading design, release, validation and support of underbody structural components throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities include owning components from concept to production, collaborating with suppliers on manufacturability, managing releases and changes, and supporting APQP to ensure a successful launch. This is a hybrid role with onsite days.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with automotive Design & Release Engineering processes.
• Knowledge of sheet metal design, steel and aluminum structures, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Own underbody structure components from concept through production and ongoing product development.
• Design and release sheet metal components and assemblies, including floor panels, dash cowl structures, reinforcements, and front body structures.
• Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate part manufacturability, stamping feasibility, and assembly requirements.
• Manage engineering changes, release activities, and product documentation.
• Support APQP activities and ensure successful launch readiness.
• Coordinate testing, validation, and acceptance activities to confirm performance requirements are met.
• Work closely with CAE, manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Maintain engineering data, bills of materials, and release documentation.

Pay: $42.31+ per hour

Schedule: Hybrid (4 days per week onsite)

Are you an experienced Design & Release Engineer with a background in automotive body structures, sheet metal design, and product development? We are seeking a skilled engineer to lead the design, release, validation, and ongoing support of underbody structural components throughout the product lifecycle.
