Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a preconstruction professional to manage the design-build/design-assist preconstruction process. You will oversee the design and detailing schedule, monitor progress, and manage financial aspects of the design contract to deliver high-quality projects on time and within cost constraints.

The role supports Design Project Managers, coordinates with sales, estimating, VDC, operations and field teams, and assists in developing design models, contract plans,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction science or equivalent
• 0-3 years of design/construction experience
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Good analytical and technical writing abilities
• Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team
• Proficiency with MS Office; able to learn Autodesk software

Responsibilities

• Support Design Project Managers and develop basic project management skills within standards and procedures.
• Lead or participate in QA/QC coordination to deliver high-quality projects on schedule and within budget.
• Interface with sales, estimating, VDC, operations and field teams with clear documentation.
• Attend and document project coordination meetings with owners, contractors, architects and engineers.
• Assist in input/output of project data in tracking systems.
• Help develop design project schedules and deliverables.
• Contribute to development of design models, contract plans and specifications.
• Perform on-site field surveys to collect design and engineering data.
• Assist in creating RFIs and submittals for detailing processes.
